About

Mai Ly is an oil, acrylic, and watercolour artist. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she immigrated to Canada in 1991 and currently resides in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ly graduated from the University of Regina in 2021 with a Certificate in Advanced Studio Art. Ly loves painting florals, landscapes, and portraits of women. She loves placing subject matters in realistic, imaginative, or fictitious settings.
Her current work is a series of medium to large size canvas oil paintings focusing on our perception of time, space, and life. Ly likes to explore the concept of time not only in the present, but also where time and life coexist in parallel universes. Ly believes that although we cannot foresee the future, in the present we can do what is right, including planning for the unknown. Ly is also working on a series of small to medium size canvas in acrylic depicting the purest and unconditional love, the relationship between Mother and Child.
