Mai Ly is an oil, acrylic, watercolour, and mixed media artist. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she immigrated to Canada in 1991 and currently resides in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ly graduated from the University of Regina in 2021 with a Certificate in Advanced Studio Art, and finished CARFAC Saskatchewan’s Foundational Mentorship Program 21/22 with artist mentor Iris Hauser.

Ly’s work draws from her personal and common experience. She loves painting women, flowers, animals, and landscapes. She depicts her subjects in realistic, semi abstract, or surreal style. The last few years she’s been working on a series ‘Mother and Child’, and on another series ‘Mapping Time and Life’. Ly’s love of nature inspires her to paint plants and animals. Last year she created a series ‘Flora and Fauna’. This year she’s working on a series of landscapes exploring mixed media.
