Mai Ly is an oil, acrylic, and watercolour artist. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she immigrated to Canada in 1991 and currently resides in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ly graduated from the University of Regina in 2021 with a Certificate in Advanced Studio Art.

Ly loves painting women, flowers, animals, and landscapes. She depicts her subjects in realistic, semi abstract, or surrealistic manner. The last few years she’s been working on a series ‘Mother and Child’, and on another series ‘Time and Life’. Ly’s love of nature inspires her to paint plants and animals. This year she is creating a series ‘Flora and Fauna’.

When viewing Ly’s daring compositions, enjoy the dynamic play of colors and harmony. Besides aesthetics, there is always something there to reflect upon. When your eye catches a painting, it is worth to stop and ponder why.
